AOL UK announced the launch of WalletPop, its new consumer finance Web site and a spin-off of AOL UK’s Money & Finance. The new site helps consumers with personal finance matters and helps educate them on ways to save and make more money during daily life.

MediaGlow Starts 2009 with Record Growth

AOL's MediaGlow publishing division had a record setting month in January with page views up 47% and total minutes climbing 39% year over year, according to comScore Media Metrix. In addition, AOL.com achieved an all-time high in total minutes spent on the site. MediaGlow President Bill Wilson said, “by leaning into the fragmentation of the Web, we are creating valuable brands that are driving engagement and attracting a larger audience.”

This month marks the first anniversary of AOL's acquisition of enterprise widget platform Goowy. Over the past year, Goowy has launched widgets as ads on both the AOL Network and third party networks for a range of leading retailers. Goowy saw tremendous growth throughout 2008, driving almost 2 billion widget impressions for AOL and serving more than 3 billion widgets.
