AOL Names Brad Garlinghouse as President, Internet and Mobile Communications

NEW YORK, N.Y. – September 8, 2009 – AOL today named Brad Garlinghouse as President of Internet and Mobile Communications, spearheading AOL’s global efforts to expand the reach of its e-mail and instant messaging. Garlinghouse will also take on an expanded leadership position for the company, heading up AOL’s Silicon Valley operations from its Mountain View campus and serving as the West Coast lead for AOL Ventures, the company’s venture capital arm headed by Jon Brod. Garlinghouse was most recently at Silver Lake Partners as an in-house Senior Advisor. Prior to Silver Lake, Garlinghouse spent nearly six years at Yahoo!, where he led that company’s communications and community products. Garlinghouse will report directly to AOL’s Chairman and CEO Tim Armstrong.

Sofia Brings it Back to Bebo

TfL named sole sponsor of the third series of Sofia’s Diary on Bebo
London – 28 May 2008 – AOL owned Bebo and Sony Pictures Television today announced the return of Sofia’s Diary as it embarks on its third season on the popular social networking site (www.bebo.com/sofiasdiary). In a refreshed look from former seasons, Sofia’s Diary is set to reach broader, newer audiences with edgier story lines and a more grown up Sofia.
Transport for London (TFL) becomes the sole sponsor of season 3 as part of its latest campaign to encourage teenagers to take more responsibility when close to or crossing roads. The series is scheduled to run over the course of 6 weeks airing at 5.30pm every Tuesday and Friday. In addition, viewers can interact with the show via text messages and video blogs. The first episode will air on Friday, 29 May.
Samsung Mobile UK Partners with Bebo

Samsung Mobile UK is collaborating with Bebo to launch several social networking initiatives. These include content on the Bebo music homepage, eight monthly live events entitled "Samsung Bebo Nights," a Samsung music profile and "Beat" -- a new music show produced by Endemol.
